Man, we really have nowhere to hide anymore, do we? I'm in the 20% at the end there, but that's purely the Cavan blood. I don't spend any money on Christmas shopping in actual real live shops either. :D

In the online payments world, the busiest day of the year for online shopping is the first Tuesday of December. So based on Alan's analysis above, it would appear people browse on line on the Sunday to select presents, think about it for a day, and then actually make the purchase on the Tuesday. Which this year will be the 8th of December, coincidentally the traditional shopping day (Feast of the Assumption) when country folk come to town to do their christmas shopping. Should be a bumper Tuesday for retailers.
